Hike the Geek: High Park

I put together a Toronto version of Hike the Geek, a recurring event I used to attend in San Francisco. We hiked in High Park, one of the largest parks in Toronto. It used to be some rich dudes estate. Now it's a popular place to take your kids and your dogs. There is a lot of native plants and animals, which is super cool. Mostly though it was a photography trip - both of my friends who showed had gigantic DSLR cameras, and I had my new (to me) Canon G9. I took all kinds of crazy macro shots that were totally impossible on my old point and shoot Casio Exilim EX-S10, so this hike was largely a "lets see what it can do" hike for me. We also had an excellent picnic under a gigantic Oak tree :-). High Park Flickr Set.

Comments:
Just missed it! May join the next one, particularly as I live so close to High Park. =)
